Bradley Schuyler, Ph.D., Chairman
Dr. Schuyler has been in private practice as a Clinical Psychologist in the Fresno area for more than 25 years. Dr. Schuyler serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors, and Finance Committee. Dr. Schuyler received his B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from California State University, Fresno, and earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno.
D. Duane Oswald, President, CEO
A seasoned healthcare executive with over 35 years experience, Mr. Oswald has held numerous President, CEO and Administrator positions with various hospital systems throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and California. Since 1990, Mr. Oswald has played an important role in the Central Valley mental health community, working with clinicians to form PSY-CARE, an IPA administering care to over 75,000 lives. In 1998, Mr. Oswald saw the need for a licensed mental health plan to serve Central Valley employers, patients and clinicians. In 2000, Avante Behavioral Health obtained its Knox-Keeene licensure from the California Department of Managed Health Care, becoming the only Fresno-based Knox-Keene licensed health plan. Mr. Oswald received his B.A. in Economics from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana and his Masters in Healthcare Administration and Hospital Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Brent Lindquist, Ph.D., Secretary/Treasurer
Dr. Lindquist is President of Link Care, a faith-based counseling program and residential program for people in religious vocations around the world. Link Care works with over one hundred different international organizations, conducting orientation and training programs for people in preparation for cross cultural work and in international consultation for cross cultural adaptation, adjustment and enhancement. In addition to Link Care, Dr. Lindquist is a co-founder of Snowfall Software, an education and learning-centric software tool used by educational institutions, hospitals and other organizations worldwide. For Avante Health, Dr. Lindquist serves as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of Directors and serves on the Finance Committee. Dr. Lindquist received his B.A. from Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois in Psychology, his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, California.
Allan Hedberg, Ph.D.
Dr. Hedberg has been in private practice in Fresno, California for over 35 years. Dr. Hedberg serves as a member of Avante's Board of Directors, and Chairs Avante Behavioral Health's Marketing and Community Outreach Committee. Dr. Hedberg has served in a variety of Professor, Assistant Professor and Instructor roles for a variety of Colleges and Universities, including Trinity Western University, California State University, Fresno, Wheaton College and the California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Hedberg has also served as a Medical Expert for the Social Security Administration. Dr. Hedberg received his B.S. in Education and M.A. in Psychology from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Deborah Ohanesian, Ph.D.
Dr. Ohanesian has been in private practice as a Clinical Psychologist in Fresno for over 20 years. Dr. Ohanesian serves as an Avante Health Board Member, and serves on Avante Behavioral Health's Quality Management and Improvement Committee and Chairs the Continuing Education Committee. Dr. Ohanesian received her B.A. and M.S. from California State University, Fresno, and her Ph.D. from the University of Northern Colorado.
Sharon Johnson, Ph.D.
Dr. Johnson serves on Avante's Board of Directors and is Chair of Avante Behavioral Health's Utilization Management Subcommittee. The author of 3 books covering topics from depression to anxiety, Dr. Johnson is currently in private practice as a Clinical Psychologist in Fresno, California. Dr. Johnson received her B.A. in Biology from California State University, Fresno, her M.A. in Counseling from the University of San Francisco, and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno Campus.
Morton Rosenstein, M.D.
A retired physician in practice in OB/Gyn for over 37 years, Dr. Rosenstein has served as President of Medical Staff at both Valley Medical Center and Saint Agnes Medical Center, each in Fresno, California, and as Chair of the Saint Agnes Medical Center OB/Gyn Department. In 1996, Dr. Rosenstein was a Founder and President of Women's Health Care of Central California, which merged with another group of OB/Gyn physicians to form Central California Women's Healthcare, a group managed by Avante that holds contracts with both major hospital systems in Fresno, California. With 34 partners and more than 70 contracted physicians, CCWH serves over 300,000 patients each year. In addition to serving on Avante Health's Board of Directors, Dr. Rosenstein is active throughout the Fresno Community, serving as a Board member of many organizations, including Matrix IPA, Priority Health Services, Professional Exchange Service Corporation, United States Figure Skating Association, Fresno Regional Foundation, Central California Children's Mental Health Foundation and Exceptional Parents Unlimited. Dr. Rosenstein earned his B.A. from Fresno State College and his M.D. from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California.
Alan Drucker, M.D., Medical Director
As the Medical Director of Avante Behavioral Health Plan, Dr. Drucker oversees all clinical operations. Dr. Drucker is Chair of the Quality Management and Improvement Committee and subsequently all other program Chairs report to him. Dr. Drucker works with each committee and subcommittee, implementing all clinical policies and procedures and personally resolving all complaints, grievances, care issues and disputes. Dr. Drucker received his B.S. in Medicine from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, his M.D. from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his Psychiatry Residency at University of California, San Francisco in Fresno, California. In addition to his duties as Medical Director of Avante Behavioral Health, Dr. Drucker is a Clinical Instructor at the University of California, San Francisco, in Fresno, California, has widely spoken and presented on a variety of topics relating to medical illnesses and psychiatric effects of various medications, and has served as Medical Director of Emergency and Consultation Psychiatric Services for Cedar Vista Hospital in Fresno, California.
